2015 Yamaha Jet Boat Pictures

Looks like the 242LS now has a co-captains chair instead of the convertible lounge seat. If I'm not mistaken it looks like it may even recline?
Yes, they do recline. But I think they took the bolster away from the captains chair which I think sucks.

@Yamborghini he knows I was joking. . . . . The 2015'S are indeed sick. But worth $7k more for the new features, only time will tell how well they hold up.

I do like the forward swept tower, hinged seats, rear storage, etc. . . .but not enough to regret my purchase from Jan.

If I was @Kane Martin , I might be though ; )

I'm good. I got a great deal. I do like the new tower w/ speakers though. Otherwise I'm good! Maybe I can get the dealer to throw in another "toy" when I pick up Saturday! Give them the "buyers remorse" treatment!

Got to have something to want to upgrade to in 5 years!!

People won't complain about the windshield frame being in their vision anymore! This should easily be overcome by an add on mod from @JetBoatPilot -- Will, you can name it after me!

@Murf'n'surf ...what should he call it...."The Murf Rest" "Butt Surf with Murf" ??? LOL

I can't wait to go drive one of these boats. I really like the new SeaDek with the teak look. Looks like a Yamaha exclusive color, as we've never seen it till now. I also noticed that they integrated the rope saver and the navigation light into one piece. The price tag is a lot more than last year, but when your top of the line 24 is priced comparably to Scarab's 21 footer, I'd say price won't be an issue.

In the pics on boattest, the engine hatch sound insulation looks about six inches thick. That whole compartment looks less "airy". I am sure they also filled the voids between the sides of the engines and the hull. They mention changes to other things as well to reduce resonance. All this is long overdue. It shouldn't be necessary to shout to have a conversation in a 50k+ boat.

But with an-add on bolster, you don't get the extra clearance of the front piece of the seat moving out of the way like you would with a flip-up.

Looks like they have bolsters to me? (notice the separation in the middle of the seats?)

Is the cruise assist still RPM based or did they upgrade to GPS based?

Good for large families and fat sacs: 12 person / 2700lb capacity for 2015 v. 11 person / 2200lb for 2014

I must be really tired, I first read your comment as "Good for large families and fat asses: 12 persons /2700lb..."

LOL!

I wonder how long until someone tows a new 240 home without a cover and the wind gets under those new bow cushion hinges and rips it loose. Should have made um open aft to forward?

I would imagine they spray foamed the voids in the hull as we talked about years ago. It's great how Yamaha actually listens to what we say here and try to improve their product.

It's about time Yamaha did something about the excessive noise. I bet Yamaha copied SeaRay's quiet ride system as much as they could. SeaRay doesn't completely fill the voids just puts sound /vibration absorbing material on the hot spots. I assume this practice keeps the weight and costs down, plus allows some of the voids to be used as storage compartments. Looks like they went with doing a better job of lining the engine compartment for starters. I'm guessing the hatch seal is more effective as well.

For all the "improvements" I don't understand why Yamaha didn't put supercharged engines and a bigger fuel tank in 24os. How did they maintain the power to weight ratio? Or did they?

I'd like to see one in person but it may be a year before that happens, that's how long it took for me to see a 19' at my local dealer after the 19's were released. This is probably a good thing, thinking with the head on my shoulders there is no way in hell I'm upgrading to a 2015 model but get me on one, even on the showroom floor, and I may start thinking with my other head which could kick my brian's and wallet's asses.

I'm determined to make my current Yamaha my last Yamaha bow rider. Mother Yami if your are reading, I and I'm sure others are going to be looking at moving up / retiring into jet powered cruisers/overnighters/live-aboards. The only question is who is going to make/sell them?

Be careful what you wish for. All these potential advancements if delivered will Kill the resale value of our boats. Ours will be, "Ohh its one of those before the XXX and YYY features"
Not going to happen. The new models hit with TDE, a resonator, lower freeboard, and more...the 230's held value and more.
