These boats do fine with ballast. They do not need superchargers. It makes a noticeable difference on the 192 vs. the 190, especially when you add weight. I am pretty sure the pumps are the same. I think the added torque converts to more pump suction and compression. It also kills the fuel economy. A 1.8 twin engine supercharged boat would be thirsty, but it might be what the doctor ordered to handle the ballast weight for surfing, and it would be fast as f%^$ without ballast loaded!
Jetboaters staff recently had the opportunity to spend time with Yamaha checking out the new models and we'll post photos and video when they are released. We are under NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) with them, so can't divulge anything, but are delighted to have had the opportunity to do this, and can't wait to share tons of photos and videos!!! Less than 10 days to wait!!!!!!

Disclaimer: This is not real and only a figment of my imagination!
It was a full in water test......My vote is to form a mob to take @Julian out, get him sauced so he spills the beans... who's with me! LOL Just joking but very happy to see that someone who loves these boats as much as we do to get some real world experience with them. So Julian, you got to see and take pictures, did you get to ride on them? I know you can't divulge what you saw but you can certainly tell us more of what you go to do. Seeing a boat on the trailer is not the same as seeing it in action which as not as much the same as being on it and getting to take it through its paces....![]()
When I left my wife took my credit cards, trailer hitch and made me swear not to come home with a boat!!!!!The real question for @Julian is "did you upgrade"?
