Bimini Pig Roast June 2014 - Bimini, Bahamas

BUMP...stirring up the conversation......time is approaching! Are we targeting this to be a pot luck or do we want to track items ? Because I'm too lazy today t go back over the previous 3 pages....Did we decide if this is going to be at bimini sands or elsewhere?....early in the week?

Sounds like Guy harvey may be partying it up end of week, combined with a good opportunity to meet each other early on. (?)

if at Bimini sands they have charcoal grills on the beach, not sure what they provide in the area of the tiki bar and infinity pool.........If we do this at an offsite beach, only other beach i know is Honeymoon cay area. I don't know how well received a bonfire would be on the beach there.. it does have a backside but is pretty shallow.

Upperdeck is in for bags and bags of chips.

I also think Honeymoon Harbor is the way to go. And I think the second day/Tuesday was the plan.

I am in for bags and bags of salad mix and dressings. Hopefully we will see a roster, schedule, and food assignments soon. I am in serious planning mode and want to get exactly what I need on my list.

Tuesday was the last plan I heard also and I think its the best.

Pot Luck is my vote. Also, I think everyone should bring their own plates, flatware, cup, etc.

I am planning but it can change to bring blue cheese coleslaw, South Carolina mustard based bbq sauce, maybe something else, and of course a round or two of moonshine for everyone.

I vote chocolate chip cookies!

One thing that the wife and I thought about, with there being 14 boats and roughly 65 people + 1 dog, how are we going to put out the food for everyone to eat.
We came up with two options, my preference is number 1:
1. Have 6 or so boats stern anchor just off the beach and put the food on their swim decks, I definitely would be one. My thought would be the outside boats would have both bow and stern anchors out (I have both) and the inside boats would tie off to the adjacent boat and/or have their bow anchors out. Honeymoon Harbor is typically very calm so this would be very easy to accomplish.
2. If a couple of people have a small folding tables (which I don't) they could bring, such as a camping table. Not sure anyone will have the extra room to bring a camping table.

In addition to my above items, we will also bring some deviled eggs.

This did occur to me as well. My thought was to ask he Sands if they have a couple tables available. But I like the swim deck idea too. Make sure one of the boats in the middle has a kick ass stereo!

Genius gentlemen. I like idea 1 as well.......

This is what I am bringing. I may try a small pit fire to warm the ham up but it will be fully cooked so it is not necessary.

I volunteer to be part of the floating serving table. I have a 2'x5' (ish) folding camping table too... but I am not sure where I would put it in my 19ft boat. I'll see if I can figure it out.

We will be bringing a Bucket of Southwest Caviar and Bags of "scoops" Tortilla chips .
Because you can get the most caviar on a scoop vs a traditional chip...
This stuff is great ! Once you start eating it's hard to stop...

Wow, the ham looks awesome. I like the raft up idea.

We will be contributing something. Gotta put my brain to work. May have my girls cook up a bunch of cookies, brownies, etc (for 60 !!! )

For the pot luck I don't think we need to bring enough for everyone, maybe half. That way someone else can bring the same thing.
However I will bring enough moonshine for everyone to enjoy some.

I posted on the other forum, but wanted to post here too! We are not going to make it, so someone bring the sweets! Lol. Breaks my heart, cause we have the kick ass stereo too!! Hubby is a bass freak! Lol

I was thinking sweets but now I am thinking Rum Punch for the crowd...
