I have officially resigned.....retirement here I come!

My simple advice now that you are fully retired is "Life is to short not to have fun" and "life can change on a dime so enjoy retirement to the fullest. [flag]
I would add...don't wait until you're fully retired to follow John's excellent advice.

You are 11 months in on your retirement… how’s it going?
Life is GREAT!!!

Been on a few trips since last October:
St.Lucia
Cudjo Key
Scotland
Ireland
Western Ontario
Maryland
Rhode Island
Tampa
Tennessee

Next up:
Barbados
Cudjo Key (again)
Starting to think about New Zealand and Australia....

I've reached the point where the day of the week is hard to remember! LOL

Been on the forum less....living life more. Became a grandpa.

But yes.... always remember that life ain't a dress rehearsal....live it now, and retire early if you can swing it!

I mentioned this earlier, but just wanted to add “Retire when you are young enough to enjoy it!”

My goal was to retire when we had enough money to enjoy retirement. For me, when I retired I was making the most money in my career that I had ever made. Yes, I could have worked longer, but what if we didn’t get to enjoy the extra money I earned?

I’m coming up on a year of retirement at the end of the month and have zero regrets about deciding to retire.

Jim

That is what we do. We stay busy and do whatever, go wherever or whenever we want. Love not having to get up and especially not having to commute to work!
