We have a similar cat and tried to take him out on Lake Gaston, VA, but he did not like the noise of the engines. Does your cat go out with you or just stay at the dock?
This was his first time on the boat, which was tied up to the dock. He seemed super curious - hopped aboard by himself while I was grabbing something from the house. Next time I may fire up the engines and see how he reacts :D

Good luck. We tried to put a life jacket on the cat. Wish we had filmed the process, it was a laughable adventure. Took him out without a life jacket and used a leash and harness to be safe.

Before sucking up a rock at Silverwood, my daughter and her friends asked for the "slingshot". Which is funny in and of itself because at 4000ft elevation we might have hit 20mph at that point

Finally got her broke in! Turns out I DO have a lot to learn about driving a jet boat. Whole different ball game coming off the old 17’ i/o.7A2B114B-0C55-44EF-AD4A-D1CBA91E08EE.jpeg

Fyi, it is unsafe for some one to be on the swim platform while underway and while the engines are running, due to carbon monoxide. It can be very dangerous and can result in desth
There are a lot of threads on it here discussing the topic.

Also nice boat !

You are 100% correct. Didn’t let anyone sit there all day with the boat running. We were just getting to the dock and she was just getting ready to catch us/tie up ?.

You'll get it!... Take her out a bunch of times... Like we discussed before there are things out there to help you too. The thrust vectors or Cobra are both great options if you find you need the assistance.

I went 2 years without Cobra, got a great feel for the boat. In the end, I ended up buying to help more with tracking on-plane! I find I do not have to be constantly correcting for course the way I needed to in the past while on-plane; low speed maneuverability improvements are just the icing on the cake :D

Gotta love the long days of the 44th parallel…I took this picture at 7:00 PM. For any of you that have the FSH models with the acrylic windscreen, check out how clear mine is, hasn’t looked that good in a while. I used Meguiars #10 & 17 plastic cleaner then plastic polish and a fair amount of elbow grease. I figure I should have been using those products every time I remove water spots and wax the boat, I had quite a few hazy spots from the universal Ocean South clear vinyl rain-spray shield I used a couple of moths ago, there are still a few spots that I can see but overall the Meguiars worked as good as I remember when I was using it on small aircraft windscreens.

The day started out cool and glassy…58° in the morning rising to 80° in the afternoon. Water temp was 57° in places in the morning and 60° in the afternoon. Bare feet and swim suit until I started getting red…The lake is totally full, and more rain is expected over the next several days.

Addendum: The Yamaha jet boats are a rare bird in these parts…there is a what I think is an older 19 or 20’ Yamaha bow rider that pulls skiers … will have to see if I can catch up with them sometime.
