Went on a Disney cruise. Was the first time in nearly 11 years I didn't answer a work call/email/ping. Really only because I wasn't going to pay for an Internet package or data roaming charge. Was also weird being completely isolated from the outside world. No idea what was going on in politics, world's events, stock market, etc. I will say I wish to live a life where I can ignore all of those things 100% of the time. Anywho it was a blast, I love cruises but haven't been on one since we had kids. 20250605_082040.jpg20250605_113512.jpgimage000007.jpgimage000006.jpgimage000005 (1).jpg4f1f183c-eb42-4385-bad3-4bff7ca006e8-copied-media~2.jpg93905017-8b3b-4746-81f1-3732b81cf776-copied-media~2.jpg

Drove my truck 1700 miles through FL's love bugs. This thing is such an amazing road trip vehicle. I love not having to stop for gas every few hours. Being able to get 800+ miles to a tank is fantastic. Being able to average 26mpg is pretty sweet, too. This one is even better than my prior gen Ecoboost. 20250608_160940.jpg20250608_160945.jpg20250608_160948.jpg20250608_173606.jpg20250608_173614.jpg20250608_173618.jpg20250608_173626.jpg20250607_203810.jpg20250607_171243.jpg

I was pulling a trailer today with my F-150 and the lane collision assist feature automatically turns off (the little orange light on the side mirrors). However I discovered that in the truck features settings you can turn on the "trailer blind spot assist". Holy shit batman! When you switch lanes the center screen switches to a camera side view of the side rear of the truck and the trailer automatically so you can see if anyone is in the blind spot of you and the trailer, then when you make the lane change and the turn signal goes off the center screen goes back to whatever it was on before like Google Maps or whatever. Freakin love this!

Seriously!? I'll have to look at that as I have the 360* camera option to see if that's an option for me. That appears to be a higher trim one, so maybe I don't.

Edit: I took a look and I found it. I can't enable it without a trailer, but I did find it! Next time I have the boat hooked up I'll enable it. That's pretty neat!

I wonder if you can trick it by keeping the trailer adapter plugged in.

Water is still about three feet above normal, so the docks and lifts all sit empty out on the lake. We've had to take control panels off a few of the lifts and rotate motors and other components up and out of the way so they don't get damaged by rising water or rising docks. Normally, it's a dry walk out to where you see the hand rail on the dock...

So I'll keep taking pictures from the shore for a few more weeks...

Now you’re getting the idea! Building a life you do not need a vacation from is the goal.

Glad you had a great time on the cruise! Looks like your daughter had a princess experience she won’t forget as well!

If you know you’re headed into heavy bug territory an extra coat of spray on wax up front helps, and so does a little spritz of PAM non stick coating. I also run a bug screen on the front of my truck to keep the bugs out of the heat exchangers, FIA makes them for most light duty trucks, go to go fia.com looks like they’re abot $105 for your truck. I’ve used the stick on make snaps for over seven years and never had one come off and I have a winter blanket and the bug screen I use on or the other all year, just be sure to remove them before going through a car wash. When I came through Nebraska a couple years back in the summer there were millions of these big ass grasshoppers…something out of a sci fi movie, they made a thud when they hit my truck, talk about a mess! I can still see marks on the chin spoiler where they hit that area. Thank goodness I had that bug screen in place! You can give that a spritz with PAM as well and the bugs don’t stick nearly as bad.

800 miles on a fill up is great!

The bug screen covers the same area as the winter blanket

My truck is ceramic coated and I just topped it up with a topper less than a month ago. Those bugs washed right off. People always ask me how to get bugs off, the trick is to have your vehicle protected well enough that they come off easily, also don't let them bake on there forever either.

The bug shield thing is interesting, never thought of that.

Agree with the coating/waxing. Roll Off works amazingly well on bugs and is car finish safe.
