Life up in the salt belt will do that to a truck in about 7-8years. I cut out the bad and just finished welding a new panel on the drivers side. Little bit of body filler to fix the imperfections, sand & paint.

I didn't know that Lower Alabama was in the salt belt.
 
@Babin Farms, Been a while since I’ve seen rocker panels that rusted. Replacement looks great! 👍🏻

How about the brake lines? I hear salt tears them up, too.

We moved down here a little over 3 yrs ago from NW Illinois.

Brake lines and undercarriage are in good shape yet. I’ll start looking for a take-off box for a replacement soon. Rust is starting over both rear wheel wells.
