2017 Lake Shelbyville Illinois Gathering, July 26th to July 30th 2017

Do you all think there will be any appetite for some freshly smuggled Bahamian Rum in Shelbyville? :wacky:

Dude!!! Totally! I love me some rum from south of the border.

Just to clarify, I have never slept with my Wake Wedge.
However, I may have caressed it a few times.

Ok, I'm new. Will I be shunned if I am drinking Old Milwaukee or Milwaukee's Best Ice? I don't want to be snooty. [flag]

You will just be adding a third front to the beer war smack talk challenge. :DCurrently it's Natty vs. Heineken. I may have to join you for a can of the Beast though. In college I drank a lot of that! I'm not sure how it tastes cold...I didn't have enough money for ice back then! :p

Maybe there can be a blindfold beer tasting contest to identify beers. @OperationROL being the head contestant.

I will Drink any beer that is cold!! "In a silver can with Blue Mountians"

I haven't decided what to buy yet.... its a very important decision. But, if I get some Beast, you get first dibbs on an ice cold one.

I have canceled my room- blue spruce cabin at lithia. I cannot cancel the boat slip- can someone please use it? Was anyone planning on trailering each night? If so, please use the slip- I'd hate for it to go to waste.

Message me if interested. Can't wait to seek the daily posts- I anticipate they will be less bone-chilling than the Bimini updates!

We ended up getting a place in Findley because it was the only place my wife could find at the time. . We haven't ever been to Lake Shelbyville or the surrounding areas. Any helpful hints? Should I put in at Findley Marina or drive to Lithia and put in? Any other newbie advice is appreciated.

It's been a long time since I've used the marina over there, but you can put in at Findley. We'll meet up out on the water each day, so I don't think driving around to launch at Lithia will be worth the effort.

Is there a great deal of no wake zones between the 2 marina's?

I don't recall there being any no wake except right at the marina's. If you put in at Findley you will be close to cove 5 hangout.

Findlay is half way up the west side of the lake. It's a fine location for putting in to meet us on the water and any in town activities. You will have a bit of a drive if you came to the activities at Lithia resort.

I love how for at least 4 years Shelbyville and shark week have basically lined up.

I may come thursday night and leave monday morning but all depends on work yet!
Still have so much boat work to do yet too!
