As @Murf'n'surf mentioned its their way of integrating a rear step. Similar in thought but not in design to their other models. None of which have seadekView attachment 88079
Absolutely! It was very slippery "naked", the small SeaDek pieces work perfect there.I got the JBP SeaDek kit that included them! I'd definitely recommend them as a necessity.
To me, it looks like the structural support of the cushion only and no intention of sound proofing.Another thing that I find striking, the insulation under the rear seat cushions. This is showing a lot of attention to sound deadening, really nice, and it works.

I think the white cross-member is, but the rest of the "slab" looks like foam, and it has a seal.To me, it looks like the structural support of the cushion only and no intention of sound proofing.
Saw somewhere that an aluminum trailer is "optional". Budget's tight, you know....Looking at Yamaha's site there is no mention of a trailer like all their other boats have.
I guess 130k isnt enough to get a trailer wow

I noticed no trailer but do my eyes deceive me, it’s got to be a typo $130K for the SD and starting from
To add on to the list of neat features I'd like to hijack and retrofit to prior boats, is the storage on top of the engines. I feel like the engines are set deep enough in the 15-19 24' boats that we could get a real nice sized tray to put in there. Video link below starts at what I'm describing.
I agree! Even if it was just a big tray down the center, there is a lot of air in the current 24' boat engine compartment that could be turned into useful storage!
I'm still uploading my videos but one of the things i checked out today during the boatshow was those wings/steps. They are solid, and strong. I used them to get on the boat when it was in the water from the dock and it didn't budge one bit. They felt pretty strong and not something i would worry about breaking from everyday use., Also, if you are sitting there they serve as arm rests. They have that grippy texture but im sure could use some seadek.I'm sorry for beating a dead horse, but I really want to know if these are a design feature or if they serve some purpose! First, they're not molded into the hull, so I imagine they will have they're own part number so they can be replaced when they get knocked off. Second, I've always thought that the stern of Yamaha boats was unique (dare I say Sexy!) in the way they sloped down onto the water. What the heck was the thought process behind these (and don't get me started on the windshield design). Would have looked so much cleaner without them!!View attachment 88077
