27' new Yamaha model 275 jet boat to be unveil Thursday at the Miami Boat Show

Another thing that I find striking, the insulation under the rear seat cushions. This is showing a lot of attention to sound deadening, really nice, and it works.

I got the JBP SeaDek kit that included them! I'd definitely recommend them as a necessity.
Absolutely! It was very slippery "naked", the small SeaDek pieces work perfect there.

To me, it looks like the structural support of the cushion only and no intention of sound proofing.

I think the white cross-member is, but the rest of the "slab" looks like foam, and it has a seal.
AT least in the 240s there is A LOT of noise coming through those compartments, so it would not surprise me they are insulating in those spots...

I haven’t caught up on all the threads, but wanted to mention that the specs are in the Yamaha phone app now, as well.

Edit: well, it was a minute ago. Looks like they just pulled it down again, unless my phone is acting up.

Looking at Yamaha's site there is no mention of a trailer like all their other boats have.
I guess 130k isnt enough to get a trailer wow

Saw somewhere that an aluminum trailer is "optional". Budget's tight, you know....

I agree that there is a black rubber like seal and gray foam in that photo. I used weather stripping around my rear cabin seats to cut down on engine noise and it worked. I have found just airsealing certain places made the biggest difference.

The other photos of the engine hatches and clean ou hatches in the 275 show the same thing with the seals if not the foam too for the engines. All of that will add up and certainly help with the additional SC whine on those SVHOs.

I noticed no trailer but do my eyes deceive me, it’s got to be a typo $130K for the SD and starting from :eek:o_O

nope, not a typo. Dealer on facebook posted some payment numbers on the different models and for an additional $99 a month you could get a trailer.

To add on to the list of neat features I'd like to hijack and retrofit to prior boats, is the storage on top of the engines. I feel like the engines are set deep enough in the 15-19 24' boats that we could get a real nice sized tray to put in there. Video link below starts at what I'm describing.

I agree! Even if it was just a big tray down the center, there is a lot of air in the current 24' boat engine compartment that could be turned into useful storage!

Yep, next nice day I'm going to have to go and take some measurements and then go root around The Container Store for something that might work. Perhaps something can be suspended from rails with a drain hose in the middle (to ensure anything wet doesn't drip on the motors).

Just FYI, I just checked on one of my 2019s and there is not enough clearance in there for a storage tray in my opinion :( Good idea though!

There are a number of features on this boat that do not appeal to me. Most have already been covered by others. The price point is way higher than I would ever go on a bowrider of any type. I truly miss the days when a brand new SX-230HO could be had for about $35K.

However, I applaud Yamaha for taking risks and innovating. They continue to take the initiative and the industry will Be forced to react.

So, while this boat is decidedly not my cuppa, congratulations to all involved at Yamaha.

I'm sorry for beating a dead horse, but I really want to know if these are a design feature or if they serve some purpose! First, they're not molded into the hull, so I imagine they will have they're own part number so they can be replaced when they get knocked off. Second, I've always thought that the stern of Yamaha boats was unique (dare I say Sexy!) in the way they sloped down onto the water. What the heck was the thought process behind these (and don't get me started on the windshield design). Would have looked so much cleaner without them!!View attachment 88077
I'm still uploading my videos but one of the things i checked out today during the boatshow was those wings/steps. They are solid, and strong. I used them to get on the boat when it was in the water from the dock and it didn't budge one bit. They felt pretty strong and not something i would worry about breaking from everyday use., Also, if you are sitting there they serve as arm rests. They have that grippy texture but im sure could use some seadek.

They did appear to me as sound deadening. They are thick, more than on the 24 footer's. The head compartment is also very, very solid and open and closes with some force with a nice thud, not flimsy at all.
