You get inexpensive gel moisture removers for gun safes, they are about 3 I chest around. They have them at bass pro shop, you can renew the tell beads in your oven.

I just picked up one of these for the truck and boat:

They get great reviews and are idiot proof. Great peace of mind if I run the radio too long while anchored!!

I used to carry one of those big 3 in 1 jump starters I picked up at HF. It still works great but got tired of the size and weight so last year I invested in one of these. It's really amazing. We used it to start a diesel pickup one day at the ramp. Started it with no problem.

I picked up a few of the Noco's from Amazon during a Black Friday sale. Thankfully I kept one for myself but haven't had reason to use it yet. I will make sure and add it to my ever-growing list. Thanks!

I just have a cheap $30 tool kit from Harbor Frieght, includes pretty much everything. I also bring a DMM and a jump pack.

Have you used one of those jump starters on a boat engine before? If so did it work well?
I have not used it on my boat but I have used it on my F150 and it started no problem. I have read reviews that the larger models have started an F250 diesel.

I have used it before to help jump a couple other boats on the sandbar...its the like the one in the video. It's pretty darn small yet strong enough to jump just about anything...I watched a number of videos and read other reviews that supported this same conclusion. I bought a small carrying case since it doesn't come with one

What are the pinch clamps for? Anything specific?

You clamp the cooling hose behind the engine on a dead engine, to allow you to go at more than no wake speed with one engine. Otherwise, water will get sucked up into the dead engine, causing hydrolock and bad times for that engine.

The hook blade sounds like a really great idea after my double rope suck up. I only had a box cutter utility knife.

Thanks! This prompted me to search the forum and I am glad I did. I probably would have unknowingly risked hydrolocking the boat if I needed to tow it.
