Boaters beach! Next to burns harbour steel mill. East of indiana dunes/dune acres. Old power plant shut down so beach is private property but nobody there
Great weather week after the 4th of July up in Northern MN. A photo of me surfing, my daughter on the swim deck & my dad in the boat (3 generations). I'm certainly sensitive to carbon monoxide as I figure out this new boat - we don't spend much time back here while underway.
Went to LuLu’s for lunch today and had to snap a pic for @zipper of this wind powered boat. Afterwards we headed to Pelican island and got a picture of Dauphin island. From Pelican island back to the launch was a nice 30 mile cruise.
Passed the dinghy test. It involved lowering the motor and tiller, connecting the fuel line, priming with the squeeze bulb, attaching the kill switch lanyard, standing up to pull start and get underway. She is proud of the pull start part
She did that so well after watching me for 6 years that this 60+ yo first mate, crew member and admiral took the hull cleaning job at the beach.
She does that well too. Lol
See? The whole hull was stained with brown from two weeks on the Taunton River on a mooring and the 9 day trip up here. Finally had good weather and time to clean it.
2nd time out in the new boat and heard a thud! Look close. Thankfully those freaking nails didn’t do a helluva number on my hull or prop!! Picked it out of the water and tossed it on the shore later in the day so it wouldn’t ruin someone’s day like it tried to with me.

I see these a lot right after ice off. Ice fishermen burn pallets on the ice to stay warm and forget that it doesn't all burn. These look more like damaged dock debris.

Crate training makes more of an impression, but I also will wear shoes - yesterday, I had to, as I'm still dealing with a shite toe injury, and barefoot makes it worse on the boat with the involuntary "help" the foot does to balance my fat ass on 2 legs.
