R7 Watersports is located in SLC, Utah and thanks to one of the forum members here he suggested we do a group buy.

So, I'm hoping you all are excited about this opportunity.

2018 Wake Foil comes with the following: This package Retail for $1599.00
  • WF1 Foil Wakesurf Board
  • Hover Glide FWAKE Foil
  • H5 Front Wing + Rear Wing, Hardware + Shim
  • 15" and 24" Masts (two masts)
  • Pedestal and Standard Fuselage
***You can choose either the package with the H2 wing or the H4 wing. Just let me know and fill it out in the order form***

Here is the deal that you are all interested in!
I can take about 25% off which comes to 1200.00
Accessories to choose from:
FCS II Quad Carver size small: $49.99 (30% off )
Half Straps: $45
Full Straps: $37.50
*Shipping may or may not be extra with the straps, depends how they ship it. We'll let you know. I would think the straps would be shipped with the Wake foil.

Additionally add the H2 wing:
$450 + $20 to ship

Additionally add the H4 wing:
$412.50 + $20 to ship

I need at least 10 orders to make the group buy work

$1200.00 is the cost

Shipping is where it gets tricky, so with that discount you will be in charge of covering shipping. The package comes in two boxes so it will cost $140 to ship it. This is straight from Slingshot itself so we are not making any kind of money on the shipping. It just costs a lot since the boxes are pretty heavy. R7 is willing to cover half the cost of shipping if we get all 10 to purchase. So it is only $70.00!

cost: $1200.00
shipping: $70.00
$1270.00

There is no sales tax charge so the total cost would be $1270.00

Payment is Due by May 21st

How does that sound to all of you? Please let me know if you would like to do this or have any other questions.

Thank you

Is the FWAKE foil the bigger foil mentioned or needed for surfing? If not can it be swapped out for the the larger surfing one in this package? If not what is the cost of the Surfing wing? I believe the majority of us interested are surfers more so than wake boarders.
I’m in! Just want to better understand what foil wing is in the package.

I believe that's just the name of the package. The H5 wing (a.k.a. "Hoverglide" wing) is what's included. I think that's the one Slingshot has chosen to include due to its versatility in both tow and surf applications. Although the H2 wing is probably the one you are referencing, it's bigger and generates more lift. Post 1 in this other thread has a video about the wing options: https://jetboaters.net/threads/wake-foil-poll-on-group-buy-interest.16665/

The foil is on a wake surf board and it has fin boxes in it if you want take the mast off and use it as a wake surf board. That is a nice feature. The FCS II fins that fit in that board do not come with the package, but can be purchased separately. I would recommend using your wakeboard rope first and getting the hang of the foil. Slingshot does offer Al La Cart options for your wake foil if you want to purchase a different wing or mast size, etc than what comes in the main package. If you are interested in that let me know and we can get a package price for the options you want.

@Kurtis Riches would you be so kind as to list the prices of the accessories for those of us who are interested? (Assuming it's ther cost prior to shipping)
  • Straps
  • Fins (Small - FCSII Carvers (quad set)
  • H2 Wing
These are items multiple people have expressed interest in adding.

Thanks!

The H2 Wing retails for $599 and with 25% off will be $449.00 plus shipping.
Straps: Retails for $59 on sale for 44.00

I am getting the fins straight from FCS, so I need to look up prices, I don't have them in front of me at the moment.

Of course we need to make sure there are enough orders to get this discount, at least 10. Thank you.

Sounds awesome, thanks!

Yes thank you for researching and posting all the above!! Looks like we’re needing 8 more to commit!

Looks awesome, but like the air chair its to rich for me. I might consider it if the price drops a thousand bucks!

You can maybe still buy a 2017 board for that price but it doesn't have the options of straps and fins.

You are right, they are not cheap... :greedy: They're also typically not on sale. So for those looking to purchase, it's a generous offer. Closest thing to a sale I've seen is free shipping but full retail.

I imagine as the sport evolves prices will eventually drop... but I don't think I have the patience...

@Julian or @Bruce , I hope I'm not out of place by my asking, but can this group buy be posted with a group notification? Thanks!

Sure can! Please send me the text you would like in the banner (to me in a conversation) and I'll post up a banner by the end of the weekend. I'm in Israel right now finishing up a business trip here...so swamped. Be sure to include the pricing, links to the thread, end date, group buy min. etc.

Thanks @Julian!

Only 6 more needed to make this deal happen.

Just to recap the possible saving on this product:
  • Hoverguilde package $260 off
  • Accessory straps $15 off
  • H2 wing $150 off
  • (Not sure on fin price or savings)
The Hoverglide package is all that you need to get foiling, but if you decide to package it with all of the accessories you're looking at a savings of $425!

This deal was organized as a special group discount. In investigating the group buy option there was a concern Slingshot would not approve, they ask retailers not to sale below retail during certain times. So, we're fortunate to receive this offer at a time when all other retailers are selling at full MSRP.

I know I sound like a salesman, I'm not... I have no affiliation with R7 other than being a friend and a client. I'm just excited about the product and excited for the deal, hence the sales pitch. I'm hoping there are a few more folks out there who really look into purchasing one of these for the season.

Although it resembles an airchair type product this is a much more family friendly device. @giroux68 kindly shared a video of his daughter riding one on a previous thread (Thanks again for sharing!). If you've not seen them, do a little research... they're awesome!

Here's a link to some previous discussion on the topic: https://jetboaters.net/threads/wake-foil-poll-on-group-buy-interest.16665/ I don't want to repost it all here and overwhelm those who've already followed.

Half way!

@Kurtis Riches What if we doubled or even tripled the commitment. Could we get down to 800? I've seen some group buys have more success with larger numbers that drive the cost down even further. I'm not here to debate if 1200 is a good deal. I have a feeling and I will vouch for myself that if it were say 800 I would pull the tigger as would many others. Let's face it, this IS new and at this point I suspect that marketing by virtue of having more folks out on the lakes asking about them would pay dividends in the short and long term.

Just a thought.... would anyone else commit @ $800?
