I see a lot of pictures of the cat, did you sell the other sailboat and I miss the post? Looks like your getting a good seasons worth of use out of the cat.
So the banana thing…. I asked my friend where the superstition of having bananas on a boat would bring bad luck came from, he told me it goes way back, as a lot of these superstitions do, to when bananas were transported on ships and the stalks(?) bananas would have plantain spiders in them, by the time the ship reached port the ship would be infested with these plantain spiders
I think I’m on false fall number four now… snow forecast with rain today and a high of 45° and an overnight of 28° tonight. Then a small warming trend into the 70’s later this week with overnights in the 30’s. Probably have my first fire tomorrow morning.

Finished the last details on the new shed with the farmers porch. Shed is 12x18. The porch is 7x18. It came out great. Now all my generators, gas machines, 2 4wheelers and the gocart are out of the shop. Ran power to it this week, now its done except for painting the ramp with nonskid. Willow loves sitting on the swing watching everything. Has a great view of the creek because its so high up on the property

Thanks, we didn't want your standard looking shed. Pretty much everything we build on the property has to have a certain look to it. We wanted it to look like a mini cottage or and old western cabin.
I tend to spend my time in front of the TV with a stack of paper on a clip board sketching stuff and showing it to my wife. Usually she goes nuts and says how long till its done. Lol
I used the same Trex decking as my deck. I am not a fan of painting or staining

Did you do the roof? Wondering about the transition details from the higher slope to the lower slope. We're contemplating DIY metal vs shingling, and that transition looks to be the biggest question mark.

I will get you some pics of the transition.
Metal is definitely the way to go here in NC. Probably do my house in metal when it needs to be redone. Lasts so much longerand long warranty
I wanted a different pitch for the porch. The other small hurdle was, we had to drop the porch down 6 inches so that the edge of the porch leading edge wasn't too low.
The shed has a 7.5 foot wall so it would have been too low. I wanted to do 8 foot walls originally but it all worked out perfectly .
Here is some of the side profile

Snapped this on the ferry over to Haig Point for a round of golf on Saturday.
Here's the crew. I'm the dumbass on the left that looks like a muppet
Grabbed a couple of the other guys on the tee box. Thought these shots worked out decently.
Second guy is affectionately called "Beeker" because he's a red head and gets excited and loud easily. His wife made us all head covers for the weekend to celebrate his 40th.
Currently sitting in the Charlotte Airport heading home after the annual "Guys Golf Weekend" in Hilton Head. Worst part of these weekends is going back to reality!

We will be in Hilton Head over Thanksgiving and have friends that live in Bluffton, just off the island. My bucket list is to play Sea Pines, but as long as my kids are living in the house, that course it to rich for me.
