Just closed on another acre of land on my fence line that i have trying to buy for 8 years now. Always was afraid the old man Gary would die and his wife would sell it all for a development and i would have a house next to me on the creek.
He called us out of the blue and asked if we wanted an acre on my side, i had to say yes even though we just spent a ton on the shop and Jeannine's baking kitchen.
Got it surveyed added to my 2.25 acres.
So me and Jeannine have been clearing the thick dense area along my fence. A crapload of bamboo and vines. We are 25% done. The area we need to clear is approximately 40 feet wide and probably 150 feet to the creek.
BAMBOO SUCKS
The property is beautiful with lots of palms and walnut trees. Gary, the guy i bought it from has a 16 acre palm tree farm and landscaping design business here so he planted some nice stuff around it.
Gotta get it cleared while its cool out

Was able to see the sun rise this morning then we drove down to Siesta Key. Black and white FSH in the distance.

Left our place in Baja and headed north to our home in Idaho to spend time with kids and grandkids for Christmas.
This was our haul on Thursday.
Some of them I wouldn't normally keep, but I had a local Mexican friend out with us. He wants EVERYTHING!

Thankfully, we don't have that crap in WI, but I dealt with it when we lived in NC. Bamboo is the cockroach of the plant world. The effort required to defeat it is ridiculous. Someone set up some sort of little haven in WI for a patch of that stuff, and I was sorely tempted to go fertilize it for them with some 51% glyphosate. Several repeated doses. And gasoline.

I'd bet it'll come back soon enough @Neutron How deep did you dig?

Right now we just cut it down, when i am done i will use my tractor with its backhoe to dig and level it out. Right now its very hilly and messy

This was about 2lbs of the 6.5lbs total that we made from 10lbs of meat. Should last for a little while.

It even matches our boat. LOL! have tons of koozies and never seem to have enough. This one has to be my favorite.

Ground and extruded, or is that something like flank steaks or a sliced-up roast? I've done a roast a few times with some Yoshida's teriyaki, which is dynamite, but those look super portable compared to the roasts I did. Signed up for their mailing list, and will be placing an order with the discount. Looking at the Polish, the teriyaki jerky & possibly the brats.

Ground beef. We had an issue with one of our freezers so I had to use it or lose it. More fat than I’m used to but most of it melted off and what remained I wiped off with paper towels after it was done. Texture and taste is different than venison but still tasty.
