The official "What did you do to your jet boat today" thread.

Sounds a lot like what I did. Here are some screen shots from my post on Yamaha jet boaters. Since installing an onboard charger I think I may have pulled the batteries out of there once. Used a lag screw through the front of the tray and directly into the floor to keep it from sliding forward when underway. It slides back further I just didn't have a good pic of that.

Very similar to what I did @Ronnie and I probably got the idea from you at some point a couple years ago!

Just a couple simple things to keep the wife happy. Cup holders and spring support for the glove box.

Curious how you secured your spring. Screws? I've purchased my spring too and will be installing soon. I know another boater used screws for the bottom mount and 3M double sided adhesive strips for the lid.

Love the slide for batteries idea! Plus a distribution block that will be awesome.

Oil, plugs, and the new Fangs.

I have been pretty busy. I got on the ADA Racing website and picked up a couple new fittings. I was hoping it would be plug and play but I had to buy a few fittings to step up the hose.View attachment 36052 View attachment 36053

I also pulled out the carpets and pressure washed them. They still had a large amount of soap from the previous owner.View attachment 36054 View attachment 36055

I then installed the new Reg #.

Can't wait till Sunday to get back out on the water. Going to Lake Murray for the first time and really looking forward seeing new areas.

Come on down to Sumter and we can get it taken care of...

Last weekend I installed the spring loaded bimini locks (verses using pins)....BRILLIANT....why did this have to come up when I am about to sell the boat!!!!! LOL But so much easier to put the bimini up now!!!! And and easy one to do!

100% agree. I did this a couple of weeks ago and while working on the boat I am putting the bimini up and down just because it is so easy!

Yeah...not sure why Yamaha didn't put these on as original equipment!

I installed the transducer for my Lowrance Elite 4 Chirp on Saturday using @Danielmailin 's excellent instructions (https://jetboaters.net/threads/installing-a-lowarence-elite-5-on-a-fsh.7785/). I need to get it on the water and see how it works. I'm hoping the bizaar depth it is showing while on the trailer in my driveway is not an indication of an issue now it is glued in. I'm optimistic it is not an issues since he has a photo showing his installed indicating 60" depth as well.

This weekend I:
-washed the exterior mostly to remove sticker and tape residue from the dealer.
-washed and applied 303 to the vinyl.
-replaced the stock speakers with Polk db651's. I was surprised the the front speakers had a second set of holes that fit the db651's but the rear ones didn't so I had to drill them.
-built a removable fishing rod holder that can clamp onto the tower when I'm fishing, but come off when the wife is onboard. Used stage lighting clamps for 2' tubes and lined them with rubber weather tape.
-put an anchor in the anchor locker and a beach anchor in the stern storage locker.
-installed my fender tenders on my fender lines.
-took the kids fishing (or mostly just riding around on the lake).

That is exactly what i did. Screws for the bottom where its secured inside the glove box and 3m double sided adhesive for the lid. Seems to work great now.

How did you figure out the size strut you needed?

Really liking the rod holder idea @JTC1016 . How is it going to hold up you think?

Feels very solid. I used the included hardware to attach the rod holders to the cutting board. The clamps are rated for much more than the rods so I think it should be pretty good. I'll let you know over the summer though.
Edit for more info: These are the clamps I used. http://www.amazon.com/ADJ-Products-...TF8&qid=1462366395&sr=8-1&keywords=adj+oclamp
With the center rings removed and rubber tape inside they get a great bite on the tower poles without marring or scratching. I drilled one hole for the bolt on one clamp and put the other clamp through the handle opening in the cutting board to make it adjustable. So far it's working great.
