Speaker upgrade. Fusion Gotta heckuva deal from West Marine. SG-FL652SPW 6.5" 230 W Sports White Speakers with CRGBW LED Lighting. Removed the old ones:

New ones fit right in, but of course the holes don't match, so redrilled (complete with countersink, of course)...

If you are working with cable and don't have one of these little beauties, get you to a Home Depot and get one. The cutter depth is adjustable. Makes stripping a breeze.

And naturally I didn't have an LED controller (no less one that did CRGBW), so $50 later... Got the controller hooked up:

Amazing part is it all works. And since I have the Fusion head unit and amp (with DSP), just went to the app and told it the new speakers and it re-tweaked the amp specially for my new speakers. Sounds awesome...

I installed the opt-7 led lighting a few days ago. I went with the 4-24” strips, 4-12” strips, and 4-double 4” strips. Then used 2 Bluetooth controllers, 1 for the front and 1 for the back. It would have been overloaded with 1. I bought some small rubber grommets with a solid center off Amazon to fill in the drilled holes (just had to cut a slit to put the connectors through). Overall turned out really nice. They seem like good quality. I think I had about $180 total in all of it. IMG_2175.jpegIMG_2176.jpegIMG_2177.jpeg

After years of abuse and multiple repairs I decided to get some new trailer guide poles. The old ones (CE Smith) did the job well but loading in cross current and windy conditions takes its toll on them even after welding gussets to help with strength. This time I decided to go with a brand we don’t hear much of, Vevor. After inspecting the product Im confident that these will hold up better than the last set. They are more than 2x thicker metal, don’t have the bend crease in them, gusset factory welded and have a round washer welded for the pvc to spin on. I was able to reuse the CE Smith hardware due to it being in good shape and was larger diameter u-bolts than what came with the new poles and also reused the pvc poles. Installation took maybe 15 minutes.

Just the carpeting, not the boards??? If so, for what reason?
Yep, just the carpeting. The boards were in great shape. The boat and trailer are only five years old. It looked like there was no cushioning left on the carpeting. I didn’t wanted it to wear through to the boards so I figured I’d spend the $75 and replace the carpeting. My reasoning was that wood on fiberglass is no good.

I did the same thing this summer, but replaced the 2 longer boards since mine were a little "spongie" 1st attempt i purchased a cheap Amazon thin carpet and with approx. 5 times loading the boat and unloading the carpet was ripping so I purchased a much thicker carpet, and it has held up nicely.

I picked up a third Cannon Unitrol 10 down rigger to use when I have guests and when going after the bigger fish down deep.

I could not locate (I didn’t try reeeely hard) to find a zero degree rod holder mount to use in the zero degree rod holders in the transom so I just went with the 30* gimbal mount from Cannon. Plenty of reach going straight back…

And still enough reach when swung around to the center line…..

I’ll see how this works out, if it works well with no dramas I may get a fourth in the future and run the two aft down riggers straight back. For now running the third in the center keeps the lines as from each other as possible. I also bought some dipsy divers, used them with no luck, but after watching some you tubes my leaders were far too short from the diver to the lure.
