The official "What did you do to your jet boat today" thread.

Got mantus m1 anchor 13lb.
Anchor that came with the boat got stuck and I had to cut the rope. Box anchor that was perfect for Chesapeake Bay ended up being useless at the lake. Did not hold the boat.
M1 even with some strong winds holds the boat pretty well.
Had to pad anchor compartment to work with Mantus. Sits pretty tight in there.

That's a REALLY nice solution to allow storage for that anchor. My anchor locker is far more closed off and I'm unable to store mine there, so I made a holder out of 2x6's for that same Mantus that I also have. Holds like a champ, it's just difficult to store, so your solution is a winner in my book!

Found a spot for the dial for the shunt... Pretty happy with it.

No need for language like that on here, church it up a bit! 😜

That's a nice solution. It always has me scratching my head about why Yamaha places things where they do. It's like they never test the layout, or consider how people would likely prefer to use the boat, or how the helm can be laid out SO much better than they do it. The radio placement on the helm of my boat, for instance...one of the things that is likely to be high on the list of often-adjusted items, and they bury it behind the steering wheel at a crap angle, and place it FURTHER away from the captain, all to have a "phone tray" that's going to have the plugs coming out at it, and the phone falls off within the first few waves you cross.

Oh, nice color.

So the trolling motor setup came with the new to me but used 2021 fsh195. I have only had it a couple months. It consists of a minn kota terrova 80 lb thrust motor with remote control and spot lock. Quick disconnect mounting plate. Two 12 v batteries wired in parallel for 24v power. These batteries stored under deck forward of center console cabin. They are wired to a dual battery tender/maintainer. Pics to follow.

Is this a common setup? I am 3rd owner and assume this to be a professional install or perhaps stock. Though I have seen fsh without.
FYI…You can’t wire two 12V batteries in “parallel” to get 24V, the two 12V batteries have to be wired in “series” to get 24 V.

In a series connection for two batteries the voltage doubles, Ah capacity remains the same. But since the voltage is 24V on the 100 Ah battery that equals 2.4KWh of capacity.

Custom made dash screen
Well there are some folks here that can’t get connext screens for their older boats they would be very interested in the possibility of getting such a screen.

There is still some work to do and testing. I have already had to reverse engineer the communication from my fusion stereo to be able to control it next I have to reverse engineer the communication from my perfect pass system so I can control it. Then actually recreate the dash piece with the screen mounted. I will keep you posted on how it goes.

That would be quite an accomplishment. I have a feeling many would buy one from you. Have you ever seen this thread 2013 Yamaha jet boat nmea 2k upgrade
I have seen it before. For the fusion I am tapping into the nmea2000 network but fusion uses proprietary PGN codes hence the need to reverse engineer it. Also using a nmea 2000 depth finder. Perfect Pass also uses a proprietary communication so I have purchased a logic analyzer to be able to reverse engineer it. I am capturing speed through gps and rpm through a calculation on the gauge inputs. The system also has lte capabilities using amplified antenna so I can get better signal on the lake and create a wifi hotspot. All a work in progress.

Amazing. I sure wish Yamaha would use NEMA 2000 for its PWC engines, that way we could use almost any MFD on the market to monitor engine performance and other functions. Very disappointing that Yamaha chose to use a proprietary system.
