Was doing some research on Raystown Lake here in PA - this and Blue Marsh are my primary lakes for boating - and I came across this story;

Raystown Lake, Huntingdon County, Pa - Two people were taken to the hospital and two others refused treatment after their boat crashed into a tree.
This happened Monday night on Raystown Lake. The group was near the Beaver Boat Launch at James Creek.
WTAJ obtained photos of crews pulling the wreckage out of the water. In one photo you can see how the tree pierced a hole through the front of the boat.
It is still unknown what led to the accident.

Apparently happened a couple years back but how in the world did that tree penetrate the hull like that?

Clearly speed was a factor! Boating at night....at speed.....not smart. Darwin award candidates!

I bet the tree broke through the front of the bow and finally stopped the boat at that point it’s at now.

I'd guess too much booze and too much speed. I just googled the lake, its not somewhere I'd want to go... Lots of accidents and fatalities.
