I haven't heard anything from the insurance guy yet but did get a call from the DA office within a couple days of the accident and he told me the guy was trying to weasel out of the ticket. I just hope it doesn't turn into a long drawn out process.

Well I got a call from insurance company and they are paying for the boat to be fixed. The trailer was quoted at $6200 to be replaced and they will only cover $4000 as that is what it was insured for so we will have to go after the guy for the other $2200 or pay out of pocket. They are paying the total cost for boat repairs which is a little over $13,000. I am really surprised by all of this and can't believe its fixable.

I'm fairly certain you can get a top of line aluminum trailer for $3-$4k.

@Sheboat - you will be able to get a GREAT trailer for $4000. The good news is the area of damage is away from the engines and pumps. They will be able to make it as good as new.....probably even more rigid.

I love that picture, too. Capturing the kids is always my favorite thing to do. Glad to see you are coming next year with a third photo subject.
