What did you do to your boat today?

@drewkaree Check the tubes on your swim platform cup holders, my Starboard side was disconnected. you can reach all the way over now that you have the whole tray removed. Go slow some sharp things in there

Those are all good, but holy cow is that a stretch to get to them! It's a blind guess for me going that route, thankfully they have always worked for me since I picked up the boat.

Added a second bilge pump to the bilge area. Video of this mod still under way. I put the control switch right next to the master key switch. (Still need to remove the goop from the warning sticker I removed). Outlet is right above the current bilge hose outlet.

I bought the jankiest 2013 SX192 I have ever seen this week but it was CHEAP. Spent yesterday cleaning the inside and outside which was kinda like putting new wipers on a broken windshield (a lot of the upholstery is shot). Today I hooked up a battery and got it running-it runs very good. Found everything on the boat works except the radio and courtesy lights. The jet pump is out and is a corroded mess-getting that rebuilt and re-installed next.

Changing the oil. On the second motor now. 20210418_154730.jpg
All is going well. Just cracked second beer.20210418_154749.jpg

I removed the stickers on the hull, and remove the adhesive with an eraser wheel. I then compounded the hull. Needed it badly. Not bad for my first time. I used the 3M One Step medium compound + wax. My technique improved over time, but I think I’d need to sand or use the heavy grade product to get it any better.

Post a new thread with this project.....we love to watch such transformations!!

Finally installed the SS upgrades for the scupper valve and gas cap. Scupper was not visibly damaged but the flange snapped during removal.

@suke No, didn't need to remove the pump. Pop the access hatch and unscrew the larger access hatch and it is right there. Easiest mod so far. Well I got 4200 over everything as usual. Used 4200 UV Fast Cure White. Took me longer to clean up the 4200 than to actually install the Scupper!

Amazon.com : Attwood 66553-3 Boat Self-Bailing Cockpit Barbed Stainless Steel 1 ½-Inch Scupper Valve, One size : Boating Control Cables : Sports & Outdoors

On amazon looks like you can have it Delivered on Sunday, just in time to put it in. Took me less than an hour. Getting off the old Silicone I used a fiber wheel and then acetone which half the time.

I reused the same hose and ran some silicon sealant on it where the clamp holds it as well.
@HangOutdoors is this one size fits all Yamaha boats? Or do I need a specific size for my 242X that’s different than yours?

Finally got some time to install my Cobra Jets and spare tire yesterday. Wifey and I are taking it out tomorrow for a test run to see how much of a difference they make. I learned how to handle the short comings these boats have at slow speed last season, my main goal with them is to assist my wife a little more during docking and loading.

Just purchased a 2018 Chevy Traverse AWD Premium with towing a few weeks back, so we’re going to put it through it’s paces and see how she does. Not our primary tow vehicle, but a nice backup if my truck isn’t available.

Also, changed the oil and loaded her up for the season with the help of my girls

Not the best picture...but the damage to the keel here was caused by scraping against the metal beam. It's perfectly smooth and flat.

interesting. ill have to get better pictures to compare. mine definitely has more of a "sanded" effect as it graduates toward the sides and end. how did you repair?

My new impellers got here today. Came off easier than expected, good. But one of the shaft threads got stripped while taking it off somehow...bad. new shaft $400 bad, took to machine shop to redo threads..$30 very good. Grease in the cones was ok, but it's replaced.

Ordered Wet Sounds Icon 8's Black w/ Swivel Clamp, Wet Sounds HT-2 Amp

I took the FSH 190 to the dealer (I am still under warranty - got a free additional 3yrs from Yamaha when I bought it) for the Annual Service (oil/filter, spark plugs, read the computer, grease things like the steering cables and etc.). I dropped it at 8:50 am, and it was ready around 11 am. I picked it up at 11:45, and it was back in its rack by 1 pm. I had it loaded on the trailer the prior afternoon.

All was good, and it was painless and quick. However at some point, my trailer tag fell off; I will be headed to DMV to get a new one in a few days (it might turn up or be turned in).

They had a FSH 195 (teal) in the showroom, but the service department said it was already sold.

Excited to get a nice board, but it’ll be more than a month before we get to use it. Below freezing temps for three nights in a row. Iowa weather, gotta love it.
