In 2015 my family stayed at http://www.wolfcreeklodge.net . They have nice cabins a few miles away from the launch ramp. It would have been great to stay with the group but as everything else was full we were very happy to stay there.
@robert843 don't get discouraged! If I recall correctly, there was one cabin at the main site and two cabins down the road that weren't filled by us. And @CDENsomnia assured me that Gregory's was pretty nice, and is almost closer to Party Row than the cabin I'm staying in at Lithia.
My suggestion is first try Gregory's ((217) 774-4313) then Wolf Creek ((217) 459-2008). Gregory's is right next door and is quite honestly equidistant from the action. Wolf Creek is a couple miles directly up the road and very easy to stay in all the action.
If neither of those work, the Shelby Inn is downtown and has plenty rooms.
We have been married for 22 years in 2017.. in that time i have learned a few things. So this is how i am selling it. My mother in law lives in Williamstown WV. We have talked about taking the boat up several times and playing on the OHIO river but we havent done it yet. So what i offered to do is leave early the Saturday before and drive to my mother inlaws... stay there sat through Wednesday morning then drive the 4.5 hours to shelbyville..... then leave sometime saturday and come home. we will see how this pays out. I would love for my first Shelbyville to be the 10th anniversary!.
@bronze_10 you could always fly the family back Sunday and tow on your own I think that is my plan right now. I think I may go ahead book tomorrow to try and get a spot at the resort. If you decide to go let me know maybe we can caravan up.
@OperationROL
Is there any special events going on earlier in the week that i would want to be there thursday instead of friday?
Looking at the listed dates up top is making me examine this.
If I can find acceptable lodging I'm coming and trying to talk some of the Crew who went to the Exumas with me this year in to coming as well. So likely will be more then just me.

Very cool. You will find good housing. Even if you don't get Lithia, Gregory's is great and right next door. It might as well be part of Lithia. Also, Wolf Creek is very nice. It is nicer than Lithia and just a few miles up the road. You would easily stay in the action. We always have willing shuttle drivers too (if you need) lol.
