Picking up in 3 days. What do I need to think about?

I'm FINALY picking up my 195S this weekend. What do I need to think about and be prepared for before then? I have had Yamaha PWCs for over 10 years so I know my way around maintenance and have some equipment already. Currently I have:

New for the boat:
•Mission fenders on order
•Stoltz roller
•Comes with Safety Kit; anchor, life jackets, fire extinguishers, and flares
•Boat Loop (The Versatile Boat Loop Makes Docking Easy - The Boatloop)
•Cover

Stuff I have from PWCs
•HX890 & HX870 VHF
•PWC life jackets
•Phone set up with Navionics
•Noco Boost X

Anything else I need to get started out on the water?

My big question, insurance. Do I need to get the insurance in place before I pick it up? I'm paying outright for the boat but I want to make sure its insured ASAP. What info do I need to get that started?

Insurance is a must, get the vin / vessel number and be ready to answer questions about the boat that your insurance agent will ask.

Go to the FAQ section there is a check list for picking up a new or used boat.

Fill gas tank with what gas that is specified in the manual.
Snacks, drinks etc.
Go have fun!

I got insurance through my dealer at the time of purchase. I believe it's called Chubb. I shopped around for other insurance companies but they ended up being the best for me so I kept with it.

Cover, thrust vectors, vinyl sealant / other protective and cleaning products, mission fenders are good, but you may find situations where you need larger tie up fenders, like babz, etc

I would wait on the thrust vectors until have you have used the boat a few times and figure out what your requirements are. If your going to be in the ocean you may want to consider Cobra's as they will keep you tracking straight in the swells and waves.

Stern narrows and cleat is VERY close to water line. So something short with large diameter. I hang mine horizontally.

Do you think they are better than the Mission fenders? They look really big to store? Are they the only fenders you use?

Yeah, ditch the Mission fenders for something bigger and more reliable. I’ve heard complaints that the Mission ones move around and don’t hold their position.

Do you inflate them and deflate them with each use or keep them inflated all the time? How many would I need for a 195s, 2 or 3?

In certain situations, the mission fenders will grab and relocate, where the balls will just rotate and maintain the gap. We use the standard cylinder shaped because as new boat owners, I didnt know what to get. We use the center cleat and going to move to hanging one from the tower instead of rear cleat.

Well, our 19' have no good fender placement on them. I installed a set of PhenderPro's on mine. One just in front of the tower and the other just in front of the windshield on both sides. I also use huge Taylor Made fenders on mine with the covers to prevent scuffing. At first I thought they might be overkill, but I'm glad I went big. Here are some photos of the PhenderPro's installed. Also, in these locations I could access the back side to mount them. I did have to take off the insert on the Starboard side behind the captains chair to get to that one but it was easy.

I deflate them just enough to fit into my ski locker. They are very easy and quick to reinflate. I will never use another fender, people who have never seen them are always asking me where to get them. And yes those are the correct ones, I really like those new gray ones
