Thanks, good points. Those MDX transmission fill plugs/bolts are known to be an issue. Unfortunately, that is an unwelcome sign the transmission fluid has likely not been changed much... and the car has very high miles. We just got it as one of my daughters turned 16. Go figure... the joys of parenthood.
I was ready to give up and go refill through a little tiny dipstick hole, but then decided - no way.
I'm gonna approach it like one of my stuck-up impellers, lol - with a 6ft cheater bar. It's a war!!!
A Florida boat in Vermont with pictures of palm trees in the back and a ridiculously low price with ridiculously low hours and little other info points towards a scam to me.
Lake is back to high level and it was 67f water temp but my kids could not resist testing out the new board and ballast. I on the other hand opted to wait since I left my wetsuit at home.
My son behind the wheel for the first time on the freeway.
It’s only taken him 30 minutes to “get the hang of it”, so far anyway.
It’s been the longest 30 minutes of my life, so far anyway.
A few pics of a Corvette Club gathering at the El Tejon Pass (aka the Grape Vine)/Laval Road exit on interstate 5 the main transport artery between Northern/Central and Southern California). If I would have driven my Vette on this road trip I would have tried to park with them.
The price of two tickets, platinum (front of the line) fast passes and parking for a day at Six Flags Magic Mountain Amusement Park $434.
For a one night stay at a nearby hotel, $135.
For food and fuel so far $185.
Sub-total, $654. $700 including miscellaneous expenses.
The experience of enjoying it all with my 15 year old son who drove (his new to him first used car actually a truck) on the freeway in some light rain for the first time ever, including over the Grape Vine (a twisty four lane mountain pass) and half the 300 mile distance, so far, plus he won a 6’ tall stuffed Batman (which I conspicuously carried through the amusement park and to the truck), PRICELESS !!!
Someday, probably sooner than I would like, this will be considered a good old day and one that I will always treasure and be able to reflect on here because of those that developed and maintain this site, thank you.
On side note after being constantly being bombarded with eye candy all day, my son and I salute the inventor of Spandex and plan to identify and send him, her or they a dollar each when we get home. A separate dollar goes to the female founder of LuLu Lemon (womens clothing which uses a lot of Spandex). In our humble opinions for all that he, she or they have done, to make this world a better place they should always be remembered and never be poor.
No Pics as they could not do justice to such a tribute.
Back to a boating theme. Here is a pic I took at a local construction site recently. This guy doesn’t need protection from falling cargo or buildings, just needs a Bimini to protect him from the Sun.
Us folks who are still stuck in winter wearing fleese and down filled coats and yes flannel lined jeans, would have loved to see warm weather, spandex clad, woman only please, pictures.
Not where I was yesterday, in the Shadow of Hollywood. The forecast was wrong, it was warm and sunny not cold and cloudy, so we over dressed but the local woman didn’t. I think i was riding next to a movie/tv star or their kids on almost every ride (they know more about the platinum fast pass plan than i do), not a Kardashian or their ex-in law though. We didn’t mind at all taking a break or two to people watch/perv and still left the park early with information / stimulus overload.
On a more somber note, after leaving the park we visited the site where actor Paul Walker died (in a $500k Porsche being driven by “a friend” doing 90+ mph on a 45, in a tight turn), we took no pics out of respect which noone else had seemed to reflect at the site, marked by a small tree stump and graffiti . For all of the people that made millions of dollars off of him and the millions he donated or raised for charity, I think someone, one or a few of his beneficiaries should have put a plaque or something more meaningful at the site of his death.
Got to visit Galey’s Marine in Bakersfield, CA for the first time ever. Wanted to see a new Yamaha but they were pushing mostly scarabs today. Just started In January and sold three so far. Damn Scarabs are nice boats other than the first model years it would be on my list of boats to consider if I was on the market. This place has all the toys but at a cost premium, as my son put it, “not my candy store”.
I sold my Phantom 2 and my Phantom 3 Pro this week, and used that money to buy a new Mavic Air. I'm excited to get this thing in the air! It should be here on Thursday.
Got my new board delivered today at the office. Had to put it together and dream of warmer weather and warmer water @ Falls Lake. Taking surfing to the next level this season. Epic.
