At the range giving the M&P Shield 9mm Performance Edition a trial run. Looking for a smaller EDC and this is the 2nd time I’d shot the Shield 9mm subcompact series and really like it. Will probably splurge for the crimson trace model than the standard model. My range had the standard rented out so had to go with the performance model. Ended up getting to shoot the standard in the stall next door to me so all in all cane away impressed. Not sure I’m willing to trade in and give up my XD40 as it has been tried and tire shooter for me but being the tactical full size it’s just too much to EDC. Will use it for home defense and as a backup in the vehicle and get a Shield 9mm crimson trace for EDC.

My expansion tank cracked tonight, luckily $40, a trip to Lowe's and about 15 minutes to screw a new one on
Just not the way expected Saturday night to be, better than an entire water heater though!

Gave my boys the gift of Monster Jam for Christmas. My first time too! Venue was at 'Vivint Smart Home Arena' (SLC). It's a small venue but they made the best of it and put on an awesome show.

El Toro Loco was a bit less graceful... and a bit worse for the wear.

Grave Digger was the one to beat. He landed the first monster truck backflip ever in SLC.

@J-RAD , I like how you combined short video clips and still pics in your post.

FYI - I took my son to our first monster jam a few years ago, it was at a small venue as well. At least you knew enough to bring or buy hearing protection for your boys. Mine son and I didn’t have any, ended up having difficulty hearing and spoke loudly to everyone for a day after the event.

If we go again it will be at a bigger outdoor venue where the monster trucks can race each other around a track instead of just do short jumps and / or drag race for 50 yards.

Thanks @Ronnie, the video clips are .gif images I grabbed from my videos. They're my new favourite! I couldn't imagine it without ear protection. The sound in the confined space is crazy! You feel the trucks in a way you probably wouldn't otherwise. My only disappointment was Brodozer wasn't driving for the hometown... I'd like to see it in a bigger venue as well. One with multiple jumps and room to really open up. We might have to travel to Vegas for that kind of show.

Taking my chainsaw for a walk in the woods this morning. Cleaning up a little storm damage along the "Brook conductor line". This one was not that bad. Just cut the tree off the lines and re-install the support post.
The hi-tensile wires support the tubing and take most of the blow.

A little cold and snowy in the office today.

I went to the international truck and tractor pull championship in 1988(ish), and had to leave after an hour because I didn't listen to the guy who gave me the tickets and bring ear protection! Definitely the sport for the deaf!

Yea you need ear protection for those kind of events. Kind of surprised at the amount of people that show up without them lol. I remember going to an NHRA event in Georgia and when the top fuel dragsters came out it was so epic. If you didn't have ear protection you would not be able to sit in the stands or anywhere near the track once those dragsters rolled out. So loud and literally takes your breath away when they take off! I went up by the burnout box and staging area and when they left you can't even think. Just mind numbing crazy power to comprehend what your rattling eyes are seeing. Monster Jam was here this weekend but I haven't been to one in probably 25 years or so. Last time I went I got the flu :(

SIg 365 with the green laser does it for me.

I plan to rent one before deciding. I like the changes they did for the new models and I like the higher mag capacity options vs the Shield. What year is yours and any striker issues or misfeeds? How many rounds have you shot through it?

2019. About 300/? No problems at all.
7 rounds max in NY so no pro with capacity.
buddy just got one with smooth sights really nice.
Try the new Mossberg MC1 I like that also, carry ether one in front pocket of jeans.

I don't shoot a lot, it is hard to find the time. Maybe 100 rounds out of one of the first P365s when tho9se become available I think, it is fantastic. For it's size there are obvious drawbacks as far as recoil and grip size but the thing is just awesome.
Fits everywhere, too.

Funny you are talking about shooting with the family! My kids learned a valuable lesson the other day..

You shoots... you cleans!

About 7 years ago I bought a surplus mossin nagaunt built in 1939... never issued. Still packed in the original cosmolean stuff. I stripped it, restained the wood, cleaned it all up... but never shot it untill last Wednesday! Holly crap does that thing have a punch!

You won’t shoot more than about 20 rounds from a Mosin on any given day. My shoulder still cringes when I even look at my 1936 Izhevsk. Good shooter though, most of the pre-war models were better than average compared to the war time builds.
