I love Orange is the new black and Sons of Anarchy. I would really like to know a final body count once SOA is over. These last two seasons have been nothing but a blood bath.
I also really enjoy Mad Men even though it's kind of lost something as it's gone on.
Oh, and I can't forget Top Gear UK. Those guys are hilarious!
I read the Game of Thrones series, and nearly stopped reading it as he kept killing off the most interesting characters....another blood bath type series....and talk about graphic violence!
I am through the 2nd season of Game of Thrones and just started listening to the 3rd book now. Trying to watch/listen so the story stays as close as possible. So far he has only killed off a few interesting characters. But I know some of what comes so I see your point.
I stopped SOA in season 3 or 4 when it got pretty far fetched. I think i'll pick it ip again when it gets netflix'd. This season does look better but need to see theprevious
Why has nobody mentioned American Horror? Seasons 1 and 2 were superb (especially season 2 in that old Catholic insane asylum) Season 3 not so much, but the current season, "American Horror - Freak Show" is sick good!

I am not a TV watcher and now faced with 4 months of couch time. The various series as everyone have mentioned kept me sane last time I did this. My favs are:
Walking dead
Game of Thrones
Dexter (although I never did make it through watching all the seasons)
Ray Donovan
I havent seen Ray Donovan listed by anyone. Me and the family watched the pilot last year and have been hooked ever since. Cam.

The last season and a half has really been building up for the final season. Love seeing the dragons in play now and can't wait for the last season (2019). There will be at least 1 spinoff coming after the final season. If you are not familiar with the whole GoT history I am hoping it focuses on the Dance of Dragons era.
For anyone wanting to learn everything about the history check this site out...https://quartermaester.info/. You can click on any of the map points and it will provide A LOT of history. Can't believe someone could spend that much time coming up with all this stuff.
Observation ... for a bunch of guys that like sun, fun and playing on the water, you have some generally dark and gloomy TV viewing habits ;-) Some interesting "body count" infographics comparing two of my favorite shows (GOT and TWD):
