I went to Lake George the past weekend with a girl I've been getting to know and a few of her friends came. A short 3 day weekend here so there was a lot to do and a little time. I put some comments on the photos.

This is turtle island, campsite 13. It was a little small and some people don't respect the no wake zone. I had a few people throw really big wakes here but otherwise it was great. I'm happy to have reserved the campsite last month because it's rare to find availability on a short notice.

I was amazed at how friendly the animals are here. The ducks and squirrels would come right up to us.

This waterfall is a short hike from log bay. It was cool to hang out in a sandbar and have this waterfall nearby. It was very cold to swim here.

We docked for free at the park in bolton landing and walked over to "The Sagamore". It's a very fancy resort with good quality food and beautiful views. Another day we went to the Italian restaurant in town and it was very good.

Sunday morning, the girl and I woke up early and paddled over to another island and enjoyed the tranquility. I'm repping jetboaters.net

Arriving back in NYC late last night. I think that I averaged 11mpg at 70mph. I'm thinking that I would like to trade in for a Tundra in the near future.

A+ for sporting the Jetboaters.net swag!!!

Beautiful bird pics this week! :winkingthumbsup"

Do you take them from the Yamaha or something quieter like a kayak?

Jim
Thanks!

Believe it or not, all from the Yammie. As we cruise the river, we're always watching for wildlife. If we spot something, we drop down to no-wake. She takes the helm and I grab some pictures. I have a big lens, so we don't need to get in close. Disturbing a bald eagle can carry a fine of $100,000 and/or a year in prison for the first offense...so we just cruise on by. No pulling in close for a better look. And we try to apply that same care and respect to the rest of the wildlife. For the most part, they're all used to boats motoring by anyway. The only wildlife we ever really seem to bother is the kayakers who think that if they can see us, we should be in no-wake mode. Regardless of the distance.

In the Show Us What You See thread, most of my pictures of the foxes, deer, etc, are just from walks around our neighborhood.

On my way home from work today. I don’t think the school bus backed into the Jeep…

So I lived on the east side of Cleveland Ohio for over 20yrs until we moved down to Florida 12yrs ago. With all the lake effect snow we would get from Lake Erie, I have never seen as many car accidents/wrecks during snow storms than I have living in the sunshine state.

Snow forces people to pay attention and slow down. That person that seems to have rolled their car all by themselves probably would have been watching the road instead of their phone if it was icy.

The wife got creative with a birthday anniversary card yesterday on our 31st. It was funny seeing she is on a tear to put some fish in the boat very soon.
