I had a flash monsoon roll through this afternoon. Now I have a Sunday project replacing the screen over my pool. I guess the water will break my fall…

Gimme your address, I'll share some of mine.

Luckily, we left the tie up and got home about 15 minutes before the skies opened up on us today. We accidentally left a measuring cup outside, and when my wife finally brought it in, we'd gotten 2" in about 45-50 minutes. That ditch that's close to overflowing into the yard is about 2' deep, and the water was flowing to the lake with a nice current

Crappy pic but lucky me, I happened to be up when a sudden windstorm hit our camp site. I was able to pull the trailer canopy in but I saw my pop ups go flying and got to help clean up the mess, all before 5 in the morning. View attachment 223671View attachment 223672
Go camping they said…it’ll be fun they said…

Sorry yiu lost your day shades.. they do make great kites when the wind comes up.

Learn from my stubbornness and stupidity ?‍♂️

If you are invested in the Dewalt 20v world, just go buy this damn light so you have easy access to additional power if you do any boating at night and need some help.

I'll edit this to add the link from Amazon. The only thing to concern yourself with is that you don't spend over $80-ish for this. It ranges from $80 to $120, and it has ALWAYS dropped into the 80's eventually

Link:

DEWALT 20V MAX LED Work Light, Handheld Spotlight with 508 Yard Distance, Pivoting Head, 1500 Lumens, Cordless, Battery Not Included (DCL043)

Its a good bit of dough but(!) there is nothing like having a lot of light when you need it! I’m sure it’s a quality light and the pattern is good with no hot or cold spots. What are the run times at what I assume are different levels of a portable sun.

The wind storm took out four of our pop up shades out of four camping spots but three were from Costco including mine so no real loss other than time to return and exchange them. Gave us a story to tell so no complaints from me. I scootered around the camp ground that morning. There were a lot of people who had wind damaged canopies and rv awnings and a lot of them ended up in the dumpsters.

edit: I just added a pic I took of my campsite right after the wind storm. The pic is crappy but it shows two of my canopies up against the trailer next to mine and a roll of paper towels unrolled by the wind.
I’m glad I retracted the rental trailer’s awning since I’d be responsible for the repair cost on that if I failed to retract it.

@zipper I suspect the blueberries are making you feel guilty for being on the boat.

Today at Costco I saw a 98” tv for the first time. I’m not buying one but thought it was cool and remember seeing one of the first flat screens at a trade show over 25 years ago. It was no more than 40”, had a plexiglass body so you could see the electronics inside (made by a contract manufacturer not the company that branded it) and was told it cost or would cost $15,000. More like it’s a good thing a jet boat was around.
