Today at Costco I saw a 98” tv for the first time. I’m not buying one but thought it was cool and remember seeing one of the first flat screens at a trade show over 25 years ago. It was no more than 40”, had a plexiglass body so you could see the electronics inside (made by a contract manufacturer not the company that branded it) and was told it cost or would cost $15,000. Love Samsung TVs but their WIFi connection is unstable and constantly drops. So you need either TV provider or Amazon Fire TV to make it work.
Their interface is nice but because of stupid WiFi it is unusable.

Three or our four TVs are Samsung and have the same issue with them losing connection with our internet router. We are going back to Sony (maybe LG) when any of them need to be replaced.

Took my youngest out to caddie for me today. At 6 he was able to hold attention longer than I expected. Made it 15 holes before I lost him to the tablet. Still a success for his first trip out I think.

Try using the cheap Safeway store brand of table salt, the granules are larger than say Morton and you get much better range and killing power.
Thanks . Fyi - Morton’s has a salt flat and production facility at the south tip of SF bay so it’s the default brand for this part of the state.

Took a PTO day today to get some stuff done around the house. Alexa and I snuck out to a pond down the street from the house for some light tackle bluegill fishing. The student has become the master.

My wife and I tried to go to an all you can eat tapas place in sf. We didn’t get in but reserved and prepaid $35 each for another date. Initially I thought the prepayment was ridiculous. Fast forward a few minutes and we were walking to an alternative tapas place a few blocks away. I don’t think the food was worth the price but was taken aback by what i experienced on the walk there and back to my car. As it turned out the place is in the middle of the Tenderloin district not far from the university of California Hasting’s school of law. The entire area smelled of feces and / or urine, there were homeless encampments on the sides walks of both sides of the streets And panhandlers seemingly in front of every business that was still there. All of the negative things shown on the news about SF are true at least where the tenderloin district is concerned. In retrospect, prepaying $35 for all I can eat located in a better/cleaner neighborhood is a bargain. NOTE: The SF Mandate fee is supposed to help cover employee healthcare expenses.

This next receipt, from a “friend” came from a dispensary, it took me a few seconds to figure out why the total price was different from the quoted costs. See the “Service Fee” near the bottom, this was not quoted initially. This seems to cover taxes and profit. This made me wonder how many people, as a percentage of customers, actually read and understand their receipt.

The Tenderloin was famous for being a shithole long before greater San Francisco was.

I graduated from a law school in SF in 1997. The nearby tenderloin was always bad and was ranked the worst place for new residents of the city to live in back in 1997 but I don’t recall it ever being as bad as it is now. It feels like even the drug dealers and prostitutes don’t do business out of there anymore. Things have to be really bad for them to leave, basically any place must be better.

Yes a new SBT, not reman, gave the customer 3 options used, reman, and new. After explaining the differences and the warranty he said the new one. Comes with a no fault warranty
