Looks like I might be out for this weekend.... Couples trip to Napa for a birthday seems to have been added to my calendar. Not 100% official but that's how it looks.

So question about Falls Lake... When I've been out with others, and when I had my old boat (years ago) there was a cove that had a rope swing in it. I don think it was the one near HWY 50, anyone know of this cove?

Did you look in both places for it?
-the old and usual spot was on the left as you enter the cove. A visible platform.
-the other place is around the corner on the right. No platform, swing from the ground. This is where it was last time I was in there (end of last year)

Yep, went into the cove and saw that the one with the rope ladder that goes up the bank is gone. Asked another boater and they said that the rangers took the swings down.

Not surprising actually. We were there when an idiot attempted to swing off the platform and fell straight down onto the rocks below. I had to drive his pontoon back to the dock while he nearly passed out due to the pain of his severely broken leg. I'll bet they got tired of all the injuries!
If u wanna a nice ride kerr is the way to go... put in at nutbush boat ramp in henderson and u can cruise to clarksville va... it's our largest lake... if u want one closer to raleigh falls lake is on the north side and is a decent size lake... Jordan is on the south side and it is more wide open lake. We tend to hit falls because it's closer to our house than jordon... there are several smaller lakes too...
3 weeks or so out and we have a nice size group lined up! Just got my boat back on her lift from the Bimini trip....still cleaning her up...that salt gets EVERYWHERE!
Looks like my wife booked a trip down to my parents that weekend and didn't tell me. So likely I'll be out. Upside is I should have my boat with me at the beach/ICW.
