This ain't a dynamite pic for comparison from that imageresizer website, but the top one is a 1.2mb pic, and the bottom one is at the suggested 500kb file size. We're not really sharing print-quality stuff here, so the suggested 500kb file size seems to be a good compromise.

I'm also investigating a way for this to be done automatically. A super lazy way to resize is that many email applications will allow you to automaticaly compresss images when you send them. So email them to yourself....select small or medium...and voila....compressed on arrival.

I've done that at times, and it's weird, without any rhyme or reason, one time will work perfectly, and the next, it's so blocky and clearly compressed that it's unusable. I had to send some stuff to someone and it was well over the file size for sending via email, so that's how I found that imageresizer website. I think over a certain size or quantity, there might be a watermark, but it's been quite a while that I've been using them, so I can't really recall. No complaints from anyone thus far with the results they spit out, so I've kept using it.

When uploading photos in Safari on an iOS device from the Photo Library you have an option to downsize the file, but not to set a specific size. Tap on the ”Actual Size” and a box will open to show smaller options.

Today Claire and I went to our calming place, Assateaque Island. As usual took many photos of the ponies but also of the birds an a butterfly. We even found the roost for the white Herons (Egrets).

We were able to adjust the configuration of the forum to auto compress images down. We decided not to reduce them too much, but set it at 2048x2048. We may adjust that later, but we'll play that by ear.

Thanks everyone!

I bought and sold this 2016 yamaha fz09 the moment I handed the money over. I had an itch to get back into bikes and my good friend wants to upgrade to a FZ09 next season. He came with me to see the bike with me and he was happy with my find. I bought the bike and I'll ride it for the fall then figure out if I really want to give the bike up. If I decide to keep it, then I'll help him find another.
