Shoot. I just looked at my calendar. I’m supposed to be in Raleigh that Sat thru Wed.

Well, if nothing else I’ll look forward to seeing the agenda you come up with. Lots of time between now and then, so maybe the trip will shift dates a bit before then.

Not sure about mother’s day though (following weekend). Missing last year for the planned Hilton head trip didn’t go over great. :)

Ok well apparently the last fuel stop is just south of Peoria at Tall Timbers marine at mile marker 120. This means 120 miles with no fuel so any one joining us needs to make sure they are carrying enough fuel to cover that stretch.
30-50 gallons of extra fuel (in 5gal cans?) will be no issue. I think I have 4-5 cans, will get few more.

For comparison, I routinely run with 800lbs of ballast in the ski locker (~100gal) that fits easy.

I think 20 gallons would be more then enough. We probably could make 120 miles on the stock tank but its just not worth risking it.

@robert843 are you and crew planing this as rain or shine event ?
I am bit concerned that this is early May that far north and we will probably be going 25mph.+ so any rain can become bitter real quick.

Due to distance of travel yes a rain or shine deal unless of course the extremes hits like it called for a wash out with highs in the 40's.

Can we use vhf on the water ? Or we need walkie talkies ?

Yes you can and should use VHF. All the dock masters are on VHF, so are all other vessels. There may be some commercial traffic.
