Waiting to row out with the broker.
When I was in OBX a few years back, I did the water powered footboard and the guy who ran the outfit lives on one of these catamarans. He would sail down to the keys in the winter with him and his dog and sail back to the outer banks in the summer. He let us walk the boat and I was amazed at the space. I’m no sailboater, so I’m sure there is a lot that goes into this endeavor, but I was impressed.

in your negotiation be sure to say " do you know how much it's going to cost me to hire someone get all this canvas and interior work redone"
Better not be any Russian spammers hiding out on that vessel either!!

PCB. Not for the Yammie get-together though.

Looks cosmetically neglected but that is money off the asking price. Hope you find that it is a mechanically solid boat.

Ya, it is rough at 32 yo. Reminds me of our 91 Beneteau's condition before we bought her. She needs a lot cosmetically. She got back from the Bahamas this Spring, been sitting on the mooring since March. Both 2018 Yamaha 9.9 high thrust ob's crapped out, supposedly valve spring failure and is being repaired under warranty. Ya, two Yamaha 9.9's high thrust push this to 8kts. She needs to be put on the hard and refit. I saw cockpit locker wells with plugged drain hoses overflowing into the locker, quick fix, but come on! So the current owners have owner her for two years and done little to repair anything. They bought the boat, used it for a year and now they are selling it. Any offer will be a low ball. We know what they paid for it, good to have boat broker friends with that information.

Wondering why there are two sets of chain plates. That speaks volumes. You can see them in the interior picture too.

Sidebar: In this picture you can see the tide working against the wind, by having stern into the wind as tide goes out. Pretty wild looking for a freshwater boater.

The chainplates would concern me. The second chainplate seems like a cheap, DIY, repair that doesn’t seem an adequate repair. From the two pics (outside and inside) it looks like rather than dropping the mast and replacing the chainplate with an identical one, the simply screwed (???) a second chainplate next to the original one! The replacement one doesn‘t seem through bolted as the aligned nuts would indicate they are the nuts from the original chainplate. My guess is they probably just backed off the turnbuckle and used the existing shrouds as well. I would assume all the standing rigging would need to be replaced.

The deer flies and green heads have been aggressive in the berry field. Wife remade this old ripped out horse fly trap and it only took a few minutes for them to find it.

Yes, that is a black Taylor mooring/fender ball hanging there.

Love this thing! Should’ve brought more salt.

Be careful what you say, lol. I had never even been on a sailboat, except Old Ironsides, in my life until I was 56. Once bitten…

As a longtime owner of one, I can endorse the screw mod for the safety. Kosher salt also clumps less, but may not feed as well in yours, as you definitely have a newer model than mine.

My father-in-law was giving me crap and saying that will never work, and that it didn't have enough power. He volunteered to let me shoot him in the leg with it, and I did it from about 2 feet away. Not only was he pissed that he was SO wrong, he spent the rest of the day rubbing his leg because it itched like crazy, but I kept telling him I was thinking about taking it back since "it wouldn't even hurt a fly" ?

I'll also recommend a Thermacell Backpacker or personal model for you on the boat if you're getting flies. Again, mod the butane cells for the smaller version, or get the adapters for the camp stove sized butane if you go with the Backpacker model, although you already have fuel for your rocket stove that works as well. Permethrin 10% mixed at a 1:6 ratio works great for "refills", and add some food coloring for a wear indicator. Add to a bottle you can dispense by the drop, you won't need much per "refill", so a 2-4oz bottle will be more than enough.
